The Full Story behind my Header Image
In my Strategic Presentation class, I was tasked with assembling a header image for my site, one that should be remembered by every employer who clicks on this website. I needed to make it obvious that the professional career I am pursuing is finance but I also wanted a nice, clean, minimalistic look to my header. I chose the center image because it shows a presumably very busy finance person climbing up 'coin stairs.' I feel as though this character represents me in this journey of finance. When I started my journey I didn't know anything about jobs in finance or how to pursue a career in the field, I didn't even own a suit at the time. I was just a kid interested in the stock market. But over time, after joining different programs offered at Rutgers such as Road to Wall Street and the Little Investment Bankers of Rutgers, I feel more confident every day, as I gain industry knowledge, practice technical skills associated with the job, and network with others. So figuratively, I am like the man in the image, climbing the 'coin stairs' of knowledge as each day passes.

I was able to find these images using the advanced google search, creative commons filter, so I know that I am allowed to use them for this assignment.

Constructing this image was not particularly difficult as I was going for a minimalistic look. I simply found the images, created a background layer of a skyscraper, created a middle layer of the finance person climbing the 'coin stairs' and finally, created a top layer which uses the same color as the finance man's image to provide the header image a color changing effect. Reusing colors and playing with alignments allowed me to create a clean looking image.

My production process was definitely a little bit more involved that the single-layer image process that Davison describes. Anyone can select a single-layer image and put it on their site, but taking the time to create an image that means something to you and other employers just makes it that much more valuable.
