Road to Wall Street
The Road to Wall Street Program is a highly selective program for students at Rutgers Business School who are interested in pursuing a career in finance. The application process is extremely rigorous with many meetings and multiple interview rounds. The applicant pool starts at around 500 and shrinks down to about 70. I am one of the 70 students that have been invited to join the 12th cohort of this program. Upon accepting the invitation, I had to complete 3 courses over the summer ranging from Microsoft Excel and financial accounting at the beginning, to analyzing financial statements at the end. This fall, there is a financial modeling course taught by Ken Friedman, someone who went to Rutgers and worked on wall street. I am excited to learn about the technical skills associated with the future roles I seek.
Little Investment Bankers of Rutgers
Upon learning about the Little Investment Bankers of Rutgers, I was immediately interested. I joined the club in the Fall of 2021 and it is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I not only learned about the basics of wall street roles but I also was introduced to the Bender Trust Equity Research project as well as the Road to Wall Street program that I spoke at length about previously. I will continue to go to the LIBOR meetings and am even considering running for a leadership position in the future.
